The 2017 VNU Creativity and Start-up Contest: The first prize for the idea of "Producing Bio-SAP agricultural byproducts"
On May 15, 2017, VNU held the 2017 VNU Creativity and Start-up Contest with the participation of nine qualified ideas.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, VNU Vice President Lê Quân shared that on October 16, 2016, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc stated that one of the fighting forces of Vietnam was the entrepreneur. VNU played an important and pioneering role in the building of a start-up nation.

Implementing the Prime Minister’s directive, VNU built the VNU start-up ecosystem in association with the policy of creating nurseries based on science and technology and creative human resources. VNU Vice President Lê Quân stated that the 2017 VNU Creativity and Start-up Contest had been expected to be a forum for lecturers, scientists and students to connect with businesses and seek opportunities for their start-ups.

At the final round, representatives from 9 groups of ideas presented their projects and answered questions from the Board of Examiners, and official prizes were given to 6 excellent ideas.

The first prize was presented to the idea of "Producing Bio-SAP agricultural byproducts" from VNU University of Science; the idea of “Green education centre” from VNU University of Science and the idea of “Building software to connect farmers with investors and consumers" from VNU University of Economics and Business were presented the second prize; the idea of "D-SMART software design for drug information search on smartphone" from VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy, the idea of “Modules for controlling and monitoring environmental parameters for hi-tech agricultural production" from VNU University of Engineering and Technology and the idea of “VNU-SMM: An automated system for analyzing online social media data for management and decision-making support in economics, politics, education and society” from  VNU University of Engineering and Technology were presented third prize.
