This represents an important development in the cooperation between Shinnyo-en Foundation and VNU in particular and between Vietnam and Japan in general. Especially, the yearly additional $15,000 from Shinnyo-en Foundation helps to send VNU’s outstanding students to Japan to attend exchange and academic activities since Academic year 2012 – 2013, which has opened up   opportunities for international students exchange activities between Vietnam and Japan”.

Trần Thị Thu, a student from the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture, VNU University of Foreign Languages and International Studies, expressed her happiness and honour to receive the scholarship. Thu shared that she was studying hard to increase professional knowledge to pursue her dream of becoming a Japanese interpreter in the future and constantly gaining social knowledge and life skills to better herself.

At the ceremony, representatives of VNU and Shinnyo-en Foundation awarded scholarships to 80 VNU undergraduates and 130 VNU gifted high school students. Each scholarship for the undergraduate and the high school student is worth $300 and $200 respectively.
