Graduation Ceremony for VNU’s 43 First Intake General Practitioners
On June 22, 2018, VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy held the graduation ceremony for 43 first Intake general practitioners and 31 second Intake pharmacists. These are the first doctors - graduates from VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy since its establishment in 2012.

Of the 74 graduates, two students received Honours degrees; 38 students received Distinction degrees; and 32 students received Merit degrees.

Also in the past academic year, the school had admitted 211 first intake students majored in General Medicine, Pharmacy and  Odonto-Stomatology, which increased the total number of enrolled students to 740 with projected enrolment of over 1,000 students in the coming academic year.

To date, several departments of the School have set up their offices at such central hospitals as Bach Mai Hospital, Viet Duc Hospital, National Hospital of Odonto–Stomatology, etc. to facilitate the implementation of training activities and clinical practicum.

Prof.Dr. Trịnh Đình Hải – Director of Hanoi Hospital of Odonto–Stomatology, Head of VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy Odonto–Stomatology Department said, “The training program of VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy, designed with reference from local and foreign medical universities, equips students with professional knowledge and skills to meet practical requirements”.

 I see that the students of VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy are very hard-working, studious and with good basic and clinical knowledge. Many of them have effective scientific presentation skills. I think that VNU’s first intake general practitioners meet the professional requirements”, said Prof.Dr. Ngô Quý Châu – Vice Director of Bach Mai Hospital, Dean of Hanoi Medical University Internal Medicine Department.

Dương Thị Hường – A first intake general practitioner stated, “I am very honoured to have studied at VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy. We will continue to study to be successful in our profession”.

According to Vũ Phương Thảo - A second intake pharmacist, the lecturers of VNU School of Medicine and Pharmacy are not only highly qualified but also very enthusiastic and close to students. The cooperation between the school and the major hospitals such as Bach Mai and Viet Duc Hospitals as well as pharmaceutical companies as Traphaco, Quang Binh Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company… creates a lot of employment opportunities for learners after graduation.

100% of the first intake Pharmacy graduates in 2017 have been employed with positive feedback from recruitment agencies. Hopefully, VNU’s newly graduated doctors and pharmacists will develop professionally and be successful in their careers.
