IChO and IPhO 2018: VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students wins a gold medal and a silver medal
VNU University of Science High School for Gifted Students contestants won a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad 2018 (IChO 2018) and a silver medal at the International Physics Olympiad 2018 (IPhO 2018).

Phạm Đức Anh, a 12th grader from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students was the only Vietnamese gold medalist at IChO 2018. Also in this contest, the Vietnamese team won two silvers and a bronze.

The IChO 2018 took place in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with the participation of 304 contestants from 82 countries and territories.

In the meanwhile, all the Vietnamese contestants at the IPhO 2018 won medals including two golds, two silvers and a bronze.

Nguyễn Xuân Tân, an 11th grader from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students, won a silver medal; he was also awarded a silver medal at the 19th Asian Physics Olympiad in May, 2018.

This year, the students from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students have won three golds, a silver, and a bronze at the International Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology Olympiads. Particularly, Nguyễn Phương Thảo was honoured as the “First Winner” of the contest for gaining the highest score at the 29th International Biology Olympiad held in Iran.
