VVNU – VJU: Opening Ceremony and Graduation & Master Degree Award Ceremony

On November 7, 2020, Vietnam Japan University held the Opening Ceremony and Graduation & Master Degree Award Ceremony at Nguyen Van Dao Hall - VNU.

Participants in those events were Japan’s Ambassador in Viet Nam, Ambassador of Japan Embassy in Viet Nam, Chief of JICA in Viet Nam, representatives from VNU, Japanese enterprises in Viet Nam, and VJU staff and students of Intake 3 and Intake 5.

Despite negatively influence of Covid-19 epidemic, VJU lecturers and students have made their best efforts in their work to fulfill the tasks and achieve the set goals. With those endeavors, 66 students of Intake 3 have successfully defended their master thesis and were honored at the ceremony. Among those, 07 students were awarded for their outstanding achievements in study and research. On behalf of the graduates, Luong Ngoc My Linh – MPP revealed her feeling: “To me, although it was very short, two-year phase in VJU is one of the most memorable time in my life. It is hard for us to recognize but little by little, the value of sustainability that VJU brings to us will affect to our way of thinking, way of behaving and make us better. I really hope that with your graduation from VJU and your participations into our alumni network, such value would be spread wider.”

In 2020, VJU offers bachelor training for the first time in Japanese Studies. After a number of efforts in admission and enrollment, 58 students were enrolled for this high quality tertiary training. To celebrate new students, Prof. Furuta Motoo have awarded 7 honored students with the highest entry scores and 5 other scholarships. In 2020, 68 students have registered for master programs. At the ceremony, Vu Minh Hang – a student of Intake 5 for master program shared: “At Vietnam Japan University, I found exactly what I’ve been looking for, the missing puzzle piece for my personal growth and career development: an interdisciplinary, comprehensive, yet remains very practical educational program. By developing a learning environment with international standards, combining Japanese technologies, knowledge with Vietnamese applied science, in order to equip students with a broad vision towards sustainable development, VJU is unique. And I believe many of you chose VJU for the same reason”.
