United Nations University (UNU) was established in 1973 as an international community of scholars engaged in research, postgraduate training and dissemination of knowledge about future plans and principles of the Charter of the United Nations. UNU is considered arms of the United Nations system implementing research programs and education in the field of sustainable development with the specific objective of helping developing countries. The University consists of 15 institutes and training programs located in 13 different countries. UNU is supported by the network of United Nations University in collaboration with schools, organizations, researchers, scholars from around the world.
