University of New England

The University of New England (UNE) is established in 1939 with two main campuses in Biddeford and Portland and four unique colleges – College of Arts and Science, College of Osteopathic Medicine, Westbrook College of Health Professions, and the College of Pharmacy. Biddeford Campus consists College of Arts and Sciences offering more than 30 undergraduate majors, and the College of Osteopathic Medicine offering the doctor of osteopathic medicine ( D.O.) degree.
Portland Campus is home of the College of Pharmacy and the Westbrook College of Health Professions, which offers undergraduate programs in dental hygiene and nursing and graduate programs in nurse anesthesia, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant, and social work.
According to lists published in Mainebiz magazine in 2008, the University of New England is the 5th largest college/university in Maine (based on 2007 undergrad enrollment only) and the 14th largest nonprofit organization in Maine (based on 2006 data).
