Expressing his honour to welcome South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam to VNU, VNU President Le Quan shared that in the strategy of developing and promoting internationalization, VNU wished to promote in-depth and substantive cooperation with South Korean partners. He said, on June 22, 2023, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife visited VNU and talked to young Vietnamese learning the Korean language. VNU has had a lot of cooperation in training and scientific research with leading South Korean universities such as Seoul National University, high-tech corporations including Samsung, LG, Hyundai, SK, etc. VNU's science, technology and engineering graduates are always highly appreciated and offered important positions in South Korean technology and industrial corporations in Vietnam. These prove that the cooperation between VNU and South Korean educational institutions and corporations is a model for training high-quality human resources, serving economic, science and technology development of the two countries.

Mr. Choi Young Sam said that at the ceremony of presenting his credentials as South Korean ambassador to Vietnam at the end of July 2023, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol shared about his state visit to Vietnam and remarked that VNU was an important higher education institution in training talents for Vietnam as well as expressed his belief that Hoa Lac would soon be the largest and most dynamic university town in Vietnam and in the region.

Ambassador Choi Young Sam affirmed that during his term, he would always be ready to connect Vietnamese educational institutions, including VNU, with South Korean educational institutions and businesses; continue to promote academic and cultural exchanges, develop Korean language training and South Korean Studies in Vietnam. He expected that the sharing and proposals from VNU would be important items on the upcoming agenda between the minister of Vietnam Education and Training and his South Korean counterpart.

VNU President Le Quan hoped that in the coming time, the South Korean Embassy would support VNU to develop a Korean language training centre, mainly in an online mode. VNU has full facilities, human resources, textbooks, etc. to conduct high-quality human resource training, meeting the economic and social needs of both Vietnam and South Korea.

VNU and Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), South Korea signed a cooperation agreement in training high-quality human resources. The two sides will establish a VNU-HMC cooperation office located in Hoa Lac to coordinate joint activities. VNU President Le Quan hoped that Mr. Choi Young Sam and the South Korean Embassy in Vietnam would connect VNU with business partners and prestigious educational institutions in South Korea to promote cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries, contributing to training top talents, to build practice-oriented training programs closely linked to the demands of the labour market.

 Also at the meeting, VNU President Le Quan proposed that the two sides organize short-term courses for VNU students to come to South Korea and South Korean students to come to VNU to study and exchange; promote the delivery of lectures by famous international scholars and scientists; organize training programs for young scientists from VNU to study in South Korea, and coordinate joint research projects; organize a South Korean festival at VNU Hoa Lac campus, among others.
