11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

There are three key findings in this thesis.

First, the thesis identified trends and new approaches in some countries in South East Asia and Vietnam in protecting minority shareholders in joint-stock corporations. The thesis contributed to clarifying theoretical frameworks and measures for protecting minority shareholders in joint-stock corporations in Vietnam and some Southeast Asia countries such as Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines.

Second, the thesis also identified achievements as well as shortcomings of Vietnam laws on protecting minority shareholders in joint-stock corporations and experiences in adaptation and law enforcement regarding protecting minority shareholders in some countries in Southeast Asia.

Third, the thesis built a theoretical foundation for completing protecting minority shareholders in joint-stock corporations, based on theoretical and practical experiences in Vietnam and some countries in Southeast Asia.

12. Practical applicability: The thesis is a source of references for business managers as well as for minority shareholders in protecting their lawful rights. It is also a useful research and study material for students majoring in economics.

13. Further research directions, if any: Further research should focus on the need and current status of the laws governing the protection of minority shareholders under the Law on Enterprises 2020 and legal issues in comparing the Act on minority shareholder protection under Law on Enterprises 2020 with some other countries in the region.
