Last weekend, VJU’s Youth Union has come to Ta Thang commune, Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province in a volunteer trip called “For a warm winter 2020”. This campaign launched by VNU and joined by other member universities to collect warm clothes, study materials and money to support difficult pupils and the local at 9 mountainous communes in Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province.
In Ta Thang commune, VJU has organized a small ceremony to give their donation to the pupils and the local under the presence of local government representatives. Respectively, more than 400 warm clothes, nearly 400 books and notebooks were given to the local kids at Ta Thang primary school. As learnt by the Union, Ta Thang is a mountainous commune with extreme climate conditions where its transportation is primitive and local people’s lives are hard. VJU Youth Union has visited a number of difficult families and given them small encouragement gifts.

Launched by VNU from December, 2020, VJU Youth Union called for support from its staff and lecturers and received various encouragement, sharing and donations. It took time and efforts of Youth Union members who often stayed after school to collect, select and pack warm clothes, books, notebooks. And their feelings seemed to be made up for when they were looking at the kids’ eyes with books and warm clothes in hands.

It is our sincere thanks from VJU Youth Union to all VJU’s lecturers and staff. Joined our hands, we all made the trip a success. It is said that we each cannot live the others’ lives. However, our small actions and sharing for the community can make a positive change; bring warmness to the kids in Ta Thang in such a very cold winter.
