In 2023, VNU continued to organize a number of educational, cultural, artistic, and sports activities to create a vibrant living environment for its students. The activities to create an environment for students to comprehensively develop were implemented extensively and diversely by VNU Youth Union - VNU Students’ Association, which facilitated students’ development of qualities, visions, capacities, skills as well as demonstration of their social responsibilities so that they could learn, access information and start-up support. These activities were organized systematically and professionally, attracting a large number of participants. Outstanding VNU-level activities included Student Club Festival; VNU Student Pride Festival; "Summer Leaders Camp" Program 2023; a series of seminars to support skills development for students as "Backpackers in their twenties"; student cultural activities, such as “First year student singing festival”, “Students’ folk dance competition”, “VNU's hot steps”, student sports activities, soccer tournament, volleyball tournament, table tennis tournament, Healthy Students’ Day, just to name a few.

With the achieved results through the above-named activities, VNU Youth Union was honoured with the Emulation Flag of the Central Committee of Vietnam Students’ Association for its outstanding achievements in the 2022 – 2023 academic year and the Emulation Flag of Hanoi Youth Union for the leading unit in youth union work and youth movements in universities, colleges, and academies in the 2022 - 2023 academic year. These awards contributed to consolidating and building a strong Union and Association of VNU youngsters, creating good public opinion, enhancing the prestige and position of VNU Youth Union – Students’ Association, significantly contributing to shaping positive thinking and lifestyle for youth union members and students, and making practical contributions to the overall development of the youth and student movement in the Capital and the whole country.

Under the yet unfavourable circumstances of VNU units’ Trade Unions and with a focus on their members, placing the employees in the centre of all the activities, the Standing Committee of VNU Trade Union has directed its affiliated trade unions to plan and organize a Launch ceremony in support of the "Workers’ Month" associated with the celebration of Victory Day April 30, the International Workers’ Day May 1 together with the other commemorative days in the historic month of May, in diverse forms, with practical content, and suitable to the actual conditions. In addition, VNU promoted the patriotic emulation movement among union members, officials, lecturers, and staff, praising and rewarding excellent union members and outstanding staff; developed union membership; improved the quality of unit trade unions’ activities; mobilized community resources to take a good care of both material and spiritual life of officials, teachers, and workers.

In 2023, VNU trade union also organized a lot of practical activities to create a space of joy, solidarity, sharing and mutual development in VNU town in Hoa Lac. Cultural and sports activities attracted strong responses and enthusiastic participation of a large number of officials, lecturers, scientists, and students of VNU, promoting a  comprehensive intellectual, physical, and mental development for the participants.
