The project aims to enhance the capacity of female leaders in higher education institutions in Vietnam, thereby promoting the empowerment of female leaders in the current context of digitization and globalization. The project's objectives are all geared towards implementing the digital transformation and innovation strategies of Vietnamese universities.

Within the framework of the project, the Final Conference will be hosted online by Research Centre for Financial & Corporate Integrity, Coventry University on February 28th, 2024.

The project "Empowering Women Leadership in Higher Education towards Digitalization and Globalization Ages" the idea of which was formed after Writing Camp 1 held by VSL is the first project of the VNU Scientist Links representing Vietnam National University, Hanoi in collaboration with universities in the UK and Vietnam. This project is a practical activity that contributes to implementing VSL’s mission of connecting managers and scientists domestically and internationally, especially among scientists and female leaders in the UK and ASEAN regions, to enhance the capacity and role of female leaders in Vietnam's higher education sector in adapting to new contexts.

Through the training, seminars, and networks development, the project targets all levels of women leadership in Vietnam Universities, including women head of department, women-led research group, managers, dean, vice-rector, rector and vice president, president in the Universities. By providing Dialogues and Seminars/Workshops, the Project will provide a network to share knowledge and skills from UK and VN, and ASEAN professors and leaders. Through the training and mentoring seminars, the UK professors and leaders in HE will transfer their experience and knowledge in Digitalization and Globalization, especially the skills and knowledge for the women leaders in HE in improving their capacity for a better adaptation with Digitalization and Globalization transition in Vietnam now. After joining the training/mentoring seminars, the participants will continue to develop their improvement plan and receive supports from UK and VN professors and leaders to carry out the plan. These will create a sustainable impact on the Project.

The goals of the Project are largely in line with the strategic objectives of the partner universities to transform into digital and innovation-oriented institutions. By joining the Consortium, all women leaders in these Universities will be direct beneficiaries and able to contribute greatly to the digitalization of the universities.

After 2 years of implementation, the project has brought many practical results, from symposiums that help propose policy recommendations to side activities that help build an enhanced connection network to the role of female leaders and especially the building of an online channel named EWL Chanel to help share data as well as online courses to improve skills for female leaders. On behalf of the organizing committee of VNU Scientist Links, Mr. Phung Danh Thang hoped the project's outcomes would continue to be disseminated across universities nationwide, encouraging women's contributions to the sustainable development of higher education, especially during a period when universities are intensifying innovation to meet society's workforce training requirements in accordance with the country's development and international economic integration.
