International Conference: "Financing for innovation, entrepreneurship and renewable energy development”
On August 16, 2017, VNU University of Economics and Business (VNU UEB) and Lincoln University signed a bilateral cooperation agreement and co-organized the international conference on "Financing for innovation, entrepreneurship and renewable energy development (FIERED)".

On behalf of the two sides, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyễn Trúc Lê - Vice Rector of VNU UEB and Prof. David Charles - Vice Rector of Lincoln University signed a bilateral cooperation agreement. Accordingly, the two sides will coordinate in research on green financing and financing for startup. Concerning training, Lincoln University will support the development of a bachelor's degree program in Banking and Finance and a Master's Degree Program in Financial Management. Lincoln University will send experts as visiting lecturers and speakers to the program. The two sides will also exchange undergraduates and graduates in the form of summer courses on campus or practice in the world's leading financial center in London.

Right after the signing ceremony was the two sides’ first joint activity - the international conference “Financing for innovation, entrepreneurship and renewable energy development" which attracted a great attention of Vietnamese and international scientists and financial experts.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyễn Trúc Lê said that the conference was a forum for scientists from universities, research institutes and policy planners to share the latest research, exchange, discuss and find financial solutions for the development of innovation, entrepreneurship and renewable energy in Vietnam.

The conference also aimed to increase and spread the applicability of research products. The VNU UEB’s Vice Rector hoped that through this scientific forum, academics in the fields of finance, accounting and banking as well as practitioners, managers and policymakers would exchange, share experiences and give advice to the state management, enterprises on the recommendations and measures to develop enterprises and the economy in a sustainable manner on the basis of increasing renewable energy use.

Thirty-seven out of the submitted papers were selected for editing and publication in the Conference Proceedings. Twenty-six research papers were presented at the conference in four content areas: (i) Renewable energy development; (ii) Entrepreneurship & Innovation; (iii) Green accounting and Auditing; (iv) Special topics in Finance.
