This year, all the seven teams of 37 Vietnamese students participating in regional and international Olympiads and Science and Technology competitions won prizes, including 12 gold medals, 13 silver medals, 10 bronze medals and two consolation prizes. With these achievements, Vietnam continued to rank in top ten countries with the highest results in international Olympiads.
As for VNU’s participants, they won one Physics Olympiad gold medal, one Informatics Olympiad silver medal, two Mathematics Olympiad silver medals, one Mathematics Olympiad bronze medal, two Chemistry Olympiad silver medals, one Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad bronze medal, and one Asian Physics Olympiad bronze medal.
Speaking at the meeting, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated the students, their teachers and the education sector on the achievements, which he said, were the pride and glory of the nation.
Vietnamese students’ high achievements at the International Olympiads and Science and Technology competitions have proved the intelligence and creativity of the Vietnamese people and the increasing quality of the country’s education.
