VNU’s talented, fast-track students continued to bring prideworthy results to the country with many international Olympiad medals. These are essential indicators helping to raise VNU's position in the international arena.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, VNU high school students continued to promote their achievements in international and regional Olympiads, national competitions for gifted students, and international science and technology competitions. In the national competitions for talented students, VNU- HUS High School for Gifted Students won 10 first prizes, 18 second prizes, 9 third prizes, and 12 consolation prizes; VNU - ULIS Foreign Language Specialized School won 5 second prizes, 5 third prizes, and 9 consolation prizes; VNU – UEd High School of Education Sciences won 1 second prize, 1 third prize, and 1 consolation prize; VNU – USSH High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities won 3 second prizes and one third prize.

At VNU’s 2021-2022 academic year High School Olympiad, the Foreign Language Specialized School had 104 prize winners; the High School of Education Sciences had 37 prize winners; and the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities had 47 prize winners.
By August 2022, VNU's gifted high school students participating in the international Olympiads had won eight gold medals (in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Informatics); 1 Silver medal (in Informatics). At the regional Olympiads, VNU students won 2 gold medals (Informatics in the Asia-Pacific region), 2 silver medals (Informatics and Physics in the Asia-Pacific region), 2 bronze medals (Physics in Asia), and 1 Certificate of Merit (Physics in Asia).
Recently, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with, praised, and awarded one Second-class Labour Order and one Third-class Labour Order to the 2022 international Olympiad prize winners from VNU– HUS High School for Gifted Students.
These achievements continue affirming VNU’s leading position in discovering, training, and fostering talents for the country.
