The Belarusian Minister of Education said that over the past 5 years, there had been 7 Belarus-funded cooperation projects between Belarus and Vietnam. In addition, there were 10 new cooperation agreements signed between Belarusian universities and major Vietnamese universities such as VNU, the University of Science and Technology, Hue University on June 15, 2023, apart from the 42 existing cooperation agreements between the two countries. Therefore, the Government of Belarus strongly expects the signing of more cooperation agreements with VNU’s members.
VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son highly appreciated the cooperation opportunities between the two sides based on such similarities as the fact that many of VNU staff were graduates of universities in Russia and Belarus, the two countries’ socio-economic background and development needs driven by science and technology and human resources. VNU has a wide diversity of cooperation with international partners such as joint training programs, joint research, especially lecturer and student exchanges, and talent training.
Rector of VNU University of Engineering and Technology (VNU UET) Chu Duc Trinh said that VNU UET wished to cooperate with Belarusian universities in AI, Robotics, Aerospace, etc. In 2019, VNU UET signed an MoU with the Belarusian State University. He hoped this would be the foundation for developing links between VNU UET and Belarusian educational institutions in the future.
On this occasion, the delegation from Belarus exchanged with Russian-speaking students in Vietnam to better understand the opportunity for Belarusian students to study Vietnamese studies and language at VNU.
