In January 2021, VNU participated in the Vietnam Innovation International Exhibition (VIIE) 2021 organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment. VNU brought more than 100 impressive solutions and products focused on technology, environmental science, microbiology, medicine, .... to the Exhibition. Notably, there were three products by VNU’s scientists introduced on the Exhibition stage: Blife - A communication aid system for people with impaired physical function; Virtual reality technology software for preserving intangible culture in Vietnam and a Remote health care and monitoring system.
In 2021, 2 science and technology products of VNU University of Science were transferred for VND 1.4 billion.
VNU’s S&T service activities have been strongly implemented through more than 100 service contracts. In the first six months of the year, the revenue from these activities reached VND 26.2 billion.
VNU’s affiliates have developed many technologies and products in such major fields as gene mapping, rare paint, anti-mold microbial preparations for plants... which are interested in and highly appreciated by businesses.

The results of policy consultations, theoretical and practical summaries, and provision of fundamental and scientific arguments for the country's socio-economic development
• Three research themes were transferred to the Ministry of Planning and Investment to formulate the 10-year socio-economic development strategy for the 2021-2030 period and the 2021-2025 5-year Strategy.
• Consultancy on developing the Party congress documents for localities in the West and Northeast regions.
• Models, training management methods, solution systems for implementing fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training in Vietnam based on Resolution 29 were transferred to the Ministry of Education and Training, contributing to fundamentally and comprehensively renovating Vietnam's education and training.
• Model of autonomy and accountability of Vietnamese higher education institutions and the Policy of increasing independence and responsibility of Vietnamese higher education institutions were transferred to the Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents, and Children under the National Assembly and the Ministry of Education and Training, contributing to the amendments to the Law on Higher Education, the 2018 Education Law, and the Decree on university autonomy.
• A plan to preserve and promote the Bach Dang battle relic site (stake yard) in Hai Phong was handed over to the People's Committee of Hai Phong City.
• Consulting Hanoi City Party Committee on developing a major in Hanoi Studies, contributing to the project of Smart urban development and digital transformation.
Sixty-nine monographs (45 in Vietnamese and 24 in foreign languages) had been published by November 2021.
