The visit of the Korean President to VNU is significant in that it gives impetus to the promoting of cooperation in education and training between the two countries as well as creates opportunities for students of the Korean language to meet and exchange ideas about Korea and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea.

Expressing his honour to welcome the President of the Republic of Korea, VNU President Le Quan said that as the leader in the Vietnamese higher education system, VNU was the first public training institution to have opened Korean language and Korean studies in 1993 right after the two countries established diplomatic relations. Over the past 30 years, most of the heads of Departments/Faculties of Korean in Northern Vietnam have come from VNU University of Languages and International Studies and VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Currently, VNU's lecturers and experts are actively participating in projects on popularizing and developing research on the Korean language and culture in the Vietnamese education system.
Speaking at the meeting, Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam and VNU. He remarked that VNU shared similarities with Seoul National University in training and fostering talents for each country.
President Yoon Suk Yeol expressed his impression of VNU leaders' vision of VNU new campus in Hoa Lac. He hoped that VNU would soon complete the construction of facilities at Hoa Lac campus to match its position as a leading university in Vietnam.
On this occasion, the President of the Republic of Korea and his wife exchanged and answered questions from young Vietnamese about the beauty of the Korean culture and the Korean wave in Vietnam.

Addressing Vietnamese students learning Korean, Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol affirmed that his visit to Vietnam this time took place in the context of sound developments in the relations between the two countries. The relationship was upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership to mark the 30th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations. The President expressed his joy at the fact that there were more and more young Vietnamese learning Korean.
He said he was pleased to see that Vietnam had held many cultural exchange activities between the two countries. These allow young Vietnamese to better understand the Korean culture. The Korean government would come up with more policies to support Vietnamese young people in accessing the Korean language and Korean culture.
