The 9th ASEAN-China Young Leaders Exchange Festival, co-hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the China-ASEAN Association, took place in Hubei Province from July 3 to 7.
This event, themed “Together for a Better Home”, brought together more than 100 youngsters from ASEAN countries and local universities. Yuan Mindao, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Yang Yunyan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial People’s Congress, and Raul Lambino, Chairman of the Association of Philippines-China Understanding, addressed the closing ceremony.
4 students from VNU University of Economics and Business participated in this event.
The 9th ASEAN-China Young Leaders Exchange Festival was held in Hubei Province this month. More than a hundred young students from the ten ASEAN countries, international students studying in Hubei, and local Hubei youth gathered for an in-depth exchange centered on the theme of promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning.
During this five-day trip, young delegates from ASEAN countries visited many places including the China Qingjiang River Sturgeon Valley, the Three Gorges Dam, the Yellow Crane Tower, the East Lake Greenway, the Yangtze River cruise and the Wuhan University. This fulfilling journey offered them a great opportunity to get close to China’s history and culture, enhance mutual trust and friendship, and embrace the vision of building a China-ASEAN community with a shared future.

The ASEAN - China Youth Exchange Festival was started in 2013 with the name ASEAN - China Youth Exchange Festival, then renamed as today. The festival has been held for 9 times, about a thousand youth delegates from China and ASEAN countries attended the festival. The program has strongly promoted the exchange of friendship and understanding among young people, creating a foundation for mutual trust between young people from ASEAN countries and China.
Representative of the Vietnamese delegation, student Nghiem Thu Huyen from QH 2020E class, Accounting and Auditing, High Quality 1, VNU University of Economics and Business gave a speech emphasizing the importance of the Festival in promoting connection, sharing experiences, learning from each other and enhancing understanding and cooperation between ASEAN and Chinese youth.
“With their role and mission, the outstanding young people attending the forum are responsible for bringing knowledge, experience, and connections to serve the country and strive to become ambassadors of friendship, cultural change and international cooperation. They contribute to strengthening ASEAN-China relations by actively participating in dialogue, promoting cultural exchanges and cooperation in various fields”, Huyen said.
