On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20th, Mr Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department visited and congratulated VNU’s officials, lecturers, and scientists.

Mr Nguyen Trong Nghia acknowledged, praised and congratulated VNU’s lecturers and scientists on the glorious achievements and prideworthy imprints that they have diligently cultivated and made over the 30 years of VNU’s development.
He said that the domestic and international situation is setting new important tasks to the education sector in general and VNU in particular in implementing the goal of developing high-quality human resources as well as creating advanced science and technology to serve the country’s industrialization and modernization up to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Mr Nguyen Trong Nghia believed and placed his high expectations on the mission, vision and leadership of VNU Hanoi, together with VNU Ho Chi Minh City and the country's higher education system in creating breakthroughs in human resources, especially high quality human resources, education and training.
VNU President Le Quan emphasized that, as the leading multidisciplinary training, research, knowledge and technology transfer centre, VNU's mission is closely linked with the development of the country's intellectuals. In VNU’s Development Strategy to 2030, vision 2045, the mission "Building an advanced research university is both a goal and a driving force to strengthen resources, develop staff, train high-quality human resources; cultivate talents; promote top-notch scientific and technological research to improve the quality of training and serve the country’s industrialization and modernization" is the top focus and will be further specified with the Project to develop VNU into an institution featuring among the world’s 500 leading educational institutions. VNU commits to using all resources and creating the best conditions to train high quality human resources and foster talents to meet the requirements of the country’s socio-economic development and international integration.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, Chairman of the Council of VNU University of Engineering and Technology, former Director of VNU Academic Affairs, presented a report on the outstanding figures leaving imprints in the country's education system and VNU's global position over the past 30 years.
