After more than eight years of operation, VSL has promoted the spirit of initiative, creativity, and responsibility, thereby actively contributing to the overall development of VNU. Scientific events organized by VSL are diverse and rich in topics, many of which are interdisciplinary, attracting high participation of the scientific community in the country and abroad, contributing to promoting the VSL's activities, and spreading the image of VNU. Specific activities of VSL in 2021 included the VSL-TALK series attracting about 2,000 people from hundreds of domestic and foreign institutions to participate with diverse forms and topics; VSL-Training series consisting of six training courses on "Enhancing research capacity” under the "Researcher Connect" program sponsored by the British Council for 60 VNU scientists from November 2021 to March 2022; the collaboration between VNU-VSL and VNU Organization-Personnel Department in organizing training courses to improve international publication capacity for scientists in Social Sciences and Humanities; VSL Writing Camp 1 ending up with two research proposals submitted to the British Council, and the proposal themed “Enhancing female leadership in higher education in the context of digital transformation and globalization" got funded by the British Council.
In 2021, VSL finalized its Executive Board with the President of VNU as VSL Chairman and 17 representatives from VNU’s members. VSL also concluded the 2019-2020 term activities and implemented the operation plan for the 2021-2023 term. VSL also provides consultations on VNU’s development strategy.
VSL not only organizes live activities within VNU, but also pays attention to activities promoting the scientific community of VNU through a digital platform, taking advantage of technology, especially in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic. VSL maintains regular VSL Fanpage and Zalo/Facebook group with prompt and timely sharing VSL’s activities and scientific data from VNU and its member units as well as other scientific information. VSL's Fanpage has become a reliable channel for sharing information about research grants, scholarships, seminars, webinars, among others, across many fields.
